There are many benefits to having stainless steel countertops in your home. Stainless steel is a low carbon alloy that contains chromium (among other compounds) to enhance its corrosion and stain resistance. It is highly malleable and therefore easily fabricated into countertops.

Stainless steel is extremely durable and will last longer and be much more resilient in your kitchen than the other options. Unlike stone surfaces like granite, corian or quartz, you don’t have to worry about the surface or edging of your countertop chipping with a stainless steel countertop. Also unlike surfaces like laminate, stainless steel is not damaged by heat. There is no need for pot holders and you can set pots and pans straight onto the counter from the range without harming the countertop in any way.

Stainless steel countertops do not need any regular maintenance, special oils, sealants or cleaners to keep their form like wood countertops do.

Stainless steel countertops are highly resistant to damage from water, heat, cold and many corrosive materials. As stainless steel is a non-porous surface, stains do not have a chance to permeate the surface. Stainless steel is the most hygienic surface for your kitchen. Your stainless steel countertop does not need any special cleaners to keep it clean and germ free, all you need is hot soapy water. Some people mistakenly believe that stainless steel countertops will create reverberations in their kitchen. However, that is not the case because of the plywood backer that the stainless steel is wrapped around.

Stainless steel countertops add a streamlined look to any kitchen and can make your space look quite impressive.

Stainless steel reflects light much better than any other kind of countertop which can make a small kitchen or a kitchen that is lacking in natural light appear friendlier and more inviting. It is also very neutral in tone so it can be paired with most cabinets or floor treatments and will also work well in combination with other countertop materials. Aspiring cooks enjoy the “professional” feeling they get from the stainless steel countertops. The professional feel along with the modern, stylish look and unmatched hygienic nature are making stainless steel countertops a more popular choice.

Our countertops are made from 16Ga stainless steel. They are usually done in either a smooth brushed finish or a non-directional finish. Standard stainless steel countertops have a 1 1/2″ thick edge. We can do multiple different edge finishes to make your countertop complete. For more on these, visit our Edge Finishes page. Your stainless steel countertop can also be extended up the wall to form an integrated backsplash.

As for your kitchen sink, we can either cut a hole in the stainless steel and plywood for you to drop your sink into or we can weld a stainless steel sink into the countertop. Welding the sink into the countertop makes it one seamless and polished piece.

Many people think that because we make every piece completely custom to your home and taste that we are also out of their price range. However, stainless steel countertops are a lot more affordable than you think.

We don’t use a standard square foot price, instead we will price your countertop specifically for your kitchen and its needs so that you get the best price.
